98% Sodium Phenylbutyrate 1716-12-7
Sodium phenylbutyrate is a pro-drug that is metabolized to the active compound phenylacetate, which will conjuage with glutamine to form phenylacetylglutamine, acting as an alternative mechanism for waste nitrogen excretion.
Sodium phenylbutyrate is indicated to inhibit cell proliferation, invasion and migration and induce apoptosis in glioma cells. It also used against protein isoprenylation, depleting plasma glutamine, increasing production of foetal haemoglobin through transcriptional activation of the γ-globin gene and affecting hPPARγ activation.
